Do you ever meet those people that you just instantly connect with and also instantly want to be best friends with?! That is Brittany and Kyle through and through. To say we had some fun during their engagement session is most definitely an understatement. While most engagement sessions normally last about an hour, I ended up spending THREE hours with these two! Time flies when you’re having fun, friends, and these two were so much fun…and so sweet…and so beautiful…I could go on, but I think the photos will speak for themselves.
Brittany and Kyle’s love story actually started with a “swipe right” on an app called Bumble. They took a little bit of time getting to know each other through text before meeting in person, but once they did meet, it was “love at first sight”, and thus their journey began!
The proposal: I don’t know if their story just goes to show how in sync they truly are, or if Kyle is just the luckiest dude on earth. Because Brittany could not have played right into his plans any better than she did! The morning started with a yummy brunch in Sausalito. While there, Brittany happened to notice the ferry and she suggested they take it into the city. (Part 1 of Kyle’s plan. Kyle already had tickets, but he went along with it like it was totally her idea!) While on the ferry, looking at the beautiful city skyline, Brit asked Kyle, (note: he’s a Firefighter), if he had ever been to Coit Tower. Coit Tower is a monument to city Firefighters with a deck that provides an incredible 360-degree view of the city and bay, including the Golden Gate and Bay bridges. Kyle casually says, “Ya, we could do that today.” (Part 2 of Kyle’s plan: Coit Tower.) Before heading straight to the tower, they walked around the city a bit and grabbed a bite to eat at a bar called Waterbar, the same place where they shared their first date! *awww 😭*
Eventually, they made their way over to Coit Tower. Kyle told Brit to stand in line for the Tour while he went and bought them tickets. Of course, he already had this whole part all planned out. They went on their special tour. While up on the balcony, Kyle was pointing out a few different spots to Brittany and while she was looking out, he quickly dropped to one knee and pulled out the most gorgeous oval cut diamond. Brittany, completely shocked and surprised, fumbled over her words but eventually was able to form words and say, YES! They enjoyed the beautiful moment just the two of them before heading back to the bay where her family and friends were waiting anxiously to surprise and celebrate with her at one of their favorite restaurants.
Our session started out in the home of Brittany’s Aunt & Uncle in Loomis, CA. Not only was their home picture perfect, but Brittany and Kyle were beyond easy to photograph. They might have said that they felt nervous or awkward, but looking at these photos, you’d think they were part-time models! I MEAN, COME ON!!
One of my favorite moments from our session was when we were taking “comfy-cozy” photos of them on the couch and all of a sudden Frank Sinatra comes on their playlist and Kyle just starts swaying Brit back and forth. I instantly changed our location to the kitchen and told them to just dance it out! Guys, I wish I could have invited the world to be a part of our session because, it was like straight out of a movie. The way Kyle looks at Brittany and the way he overflows with love for her…I just can’t! And Brittany, with her beautiful smile and laugh that lights up a room…Can we just be best friends?!
Eventually, we made our way outside for some more classic photos, although the cuteness didn’t stop by any means! I do feel it was only right that we ended our session back on the couch in some snuggly snuggies — by request of Kyle!
Kyle: “She’s my best friend. I love her with all my heart. Everything is better with her and nothing is the same without her. She makes everyone and everything around her better. She makes me want to be the best me for myself and for her. Bonus: shes hot AF.” …and friends, he ain’t wrong. He’s a very lucky dude!
Brittany: “He is my best friend. We love to do things together, whether it’s skydiving, fancy date night or a lazy night in we have a good time. He has the sweetest soul, and he’s incredibly handsome haha.” I only got to spend three hours with Kyle, but I would immediately agree that he really does have the sweetest soul!
Brittany and Kyle, I can’t say enough how happy I am to not only be the one who gets to be a part of your wedding day, but I’m so happy I got to meet you both and spend (a little bit more time than normal) with ya’ll! Thank you for making my day so bright and happy! Thank you for making me almost cry with your beautiful love! Thank you for being so genuine and adorable and letting me be a part of capturing these moments for you. I truly can’t wait to celebrate with you guys next year and photograph some more beautiful moments! Ya’ll are perfect! And Ps, part-time modeling could totally be your thing…just throwing that out there. 😉
