When Stephanie mentioned Folsom as a possible location for their Holiday Family Photos, I immediately wanted to take them to Negro Bar in Orangevale. I knew that it would be a beautiful location for some photos, but also a fun spot for the boys to have fun playing in the water and throwing rocks. The boys are happy, everyone wins!
The second they arrived, I stopped them up at the top of the hill on the bike trail, and let them bask in the the gorgeous sun light. Next, we made our way down towards the water, while trying to hold the boys off for as long as possible before we lost them to the water! Mind you, these kids are two of the most well behaved young men I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing, especially when surrounded by nature — their playground!
We made our way through the family photos and captured SUCH adorable moments (if I do say so myself), then we let the boys loose and they went to town throwing all the rocks. I’m also happy to say no ducks were harmed in the process, though, the ducks didn’t seem too bothered.
After having some fun throwing rocks, and a sneaky potty break (of which child will remain unnamed, because the world is not only a playground, but also their toilet…#boylife), we started to make our treck back to the car. And yes, it’s a “treck”, because I am not much of an “outdoorsy” girl, and by “outdoorsy”, I mean I haven’t been physically active since highschool…so that 1/4 mile walk back to the car was more than enough work out for the month.
Gavin & Steph, thanks for allowing me to capture your beautiful family and also, thank you for raising such sweet human beings! You’re doing is right.
